Nearly 50 babies and children at a Nursery in Salford have raised £30 in a festive fundraiser day.

Children at Holyrood Nursery, Eccles Old Road, wore a festive outfit or jumper for the day, in the hopes of raising money for Save the Children.

Some children also visited local Hope Manor Care Home to sing carols to elderly residents.

Nursery Manager Rachel Doyle explained: “We didn’t want to create any pressure for parents to have to buy a Christmas jumper, so the children were invited to wear whatever festive outfit they liked.

“They spent the day talking about their Christmas jumpers with each other and the older children talked about how they were raising money for children who were less well-off.”
