A car containing a woman and two small children inside was shot at with an air rifle when she was leaving a Sainsbury’s car park in Blakeley, Manchester.

The incident, which happened on Monday evening left the woman “shaken and very distressed”, according to police. The pellet from the rifle is believed to have cracked the windscreen while the children were travelling in the back.

A spokesperson for GMP said: “The lady was leaving Sainsbury’s car park on Heaton Park Road, Blackley, with her two young children when an air rifle was fired at her car.

“This caused a small crack on her windscreen. The lady and her two young children were uninjured, however understandably very shaken up and distressed.”
