ALTRINCHAM have parted company with manager Lee Sinnott after five years in charge at Moss Lane.
The 50-year-old was the second longest serving boss in the National League along with Woking boss Garry Hill after replacing Ken McKenna in the Alty hotseat in May 2011.
Sinnott guided the Robins into the non-league top-flight via the play-offs in 2014 and helped the side reach the FA Cup second round this season after a famous 1-0 victory over League One Barnsley.
But the Cheshire club dropped into the relegation zone after Tuesday’s 3-2 home defeat by Gateshead and have not won in seven league games.
Chairman Grahame Rowley said in a statement on the club’s website: “It has been a privilege to work with Lee, a man of integrity and honesty.
“I am extremely sorry to see him go, his shoes will be hard to fill. Altrincham Football Club are proud to have had him as their manager.”
Sinnott arrived at Alty following their relegation to the then Conference North in 2011 before eventually achieving promotion via a play-off win over Guiseley three years later.
Last season, he managed to steer the club to a 17th-placed finish but the Robins have struggled for consistency this term, taking 35 points from as many league games so far.
They have won eight, drawn 11 and lost 16 of those matches and find themselves 21st in the table, one point adrift of safety, with 11 games remaining.
Former defender Sinnott made more than 600 first team appearances for Walsall, Watford, Bradford City, Crystal Palace, Huddersfield Town, Oldham Athletic and Scarborough during his playing career.
His former assistant Neil Tolson will be the caretaker manager for Saturday’s league match against Barrow at Holker Street.
