SALFORD City will host Workington AFC in the Evo-Stik Premier Division play-off final this Saturday at Moor Lane (KO 15:00 BST).

After Workington dispatched of Blyth Spartans in a 4-3 effort at Croft Park, they’ll go up against Salford who edged out local rivals Ashton United 3-1 courtesy of two extra-time goals from Gareth Seddon and James Poole.

Offering up the last available place for promotion to the Vanarama National League North, Salford will be hotly anticipating the chance to perform in front of their own fans, with star strikers James Poole and Danny Webber expected to start.

The last time Salford played Workington at Moor Lane was back in March, when the Ammies were victorious in a 5-3 rout – and will be hoping to emulate this same form.

Salford joint managers Brendan Morley and Anthony Johnson will be hoping to celebrate a fourth promotion in five seasons for Salford with a win, since their move in January 2015 from Ramsbottom United.

Workington will be expecting to pull out what would be a relative shock this weekend, as the Workington Reds only just managed to secure a play-off place on the last day of the season, but will hoping to secure promotion at Moor Lane on Saturday.
