MANCHESTER’S Olympic Parade takes place today at 4.30 pm outside the Museum of Science and industry and will then move off onto Deansgate and end at Albert Square around 5.30 pm.

The team GB olympians and paralympians will be supported by approximately 200,000 people.

The 350 Team GB athletes attending will include Jessica Ennis, Ellie Simmonds and the Brownlee brothers.

To make sure none of the fans miss their favourite athletes there will be big screens in place in order to allow onlookers to see the athletes close up.

The parade will not only involve our Olympic and Paralympics champions but will also have well known pop stars such as X Factor runner up Rebecca Ferguson who will be performing. However, this will not take place until the after party, which will be at Albert Square where the parade is expected to end.

Olly Murs announced he had pulled out of performing at Manchester Olympic parade after party this morning.
