ALTRINCHAM FC have been rewarded for their social media work during their convincing victory against Matlock Town in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round after being chosen as the Emirates FA Cup Club of the Round.

Fans will have the opportunity to have photos taken with the FA Cup at Altrincham FC’s home game against Bradford Park Avenue tonight before a presentation on the pitch shortly before the match.

As well as a visit from the FA Cup, Altrincham were rewarded with five new Nike training balls, £500 of paid social media support and two tickets for the Emirates FA Cup final in May next year.

Damien Reeves’ wonderful finish and a second half double from Sean Miller secured the Robins a spot in the first round for the second consecutive year.

Altrincham are no strangers to the first round of the FA Cup, famously knocking League One Barnsley out of the competition last season before falling short at Colchester in round two.

The Robins will be hoping for a repeat performance this year when they travel to Lincoln City on the weekend of the 5-6 November.

Jim Harvey’s side’s cup run is a complete contrast to their National League North form, as Altrincham currently sit seven points adrift of safety after Curzon Ashton’s 1-1 draw against Chorley at Tameside Stadium last night.

The Robins face a must win match against bottom side Bradford Park Avenue at Moss Lane tonight as they look to rectify their poor early season form.
