A POLICE incident caused all train lines to and from Manchester Piccadilly and Levenshulme to close and the A6 to shut early this morning.

The A6 has also been closed in Longsight between Slade Lane and Attwood Street, reportedly because of the same incident.

Northern Rail took to Twitter to inform their customers all lines are closed ‘due to emergency services dealing with an incident’.

Services are up to 30 minutes late and some have been amended.

The 6:46am Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe service will no longer be calling at Manchester Airport.

The M. E. N. has reported the 7:46am Manchester Airport to Manchester Piccadilly and 7:14am Manchester Piccadilly to Manchester Airport have both been cancelled and the 7:59am Stoke to Manchester Piccadilly service will now start from Macclesfield.
