CHESHIRE rivals Macclesfield Town and Altrincham will face off for the right to play AFC Sudbury in the second-round of the FA Trophy after the draw was made yesterday.

High-flying Macc will travel to Alty’s Moss Lane ground on 20 December after Altrincham came through their first round replay against Blyth Spartans 3-2 on Saturday.

Ryman Premier League side AFC Sudbury came through through their first round tie with a 2-1 win over Gosport Borough.

In other notable ties, National League leaders Tranmere Rovers, the highest-placed side in the competition, will face step four opposition after being drawn against either South Park or North Leigh.

South Park, who play their football in the Isthmian League Division One South, drew 1-1 with Southern League Division One South & West side North Leigh on Saturday.

The other second-round tie involving a Greater Manchester side sees Stockport County host either AFC Fylde or Brackley Town when the matches are played on the 14 January next year.
