The Met Office have issued yellow and amber weather warnings as Storm Aileen brings winds as high as 52 – 60 mph across Salford and the region.
The torrential weather will start around 5pm tonight and will continue through to late Wednesday morning. Heavy rain and high wind speeds could mean power outages, road damage and travel disruption over the next few days.
The Met Office have said: “This may cause flooding on the transport network, with spray and difficult driving conditions due to the combination of rain and wind. There is also a small chance of flooding affecting homes and businesses”.

The yellow weather warning has been issued for tonight, with the amber warning for high winds for early Wednesday morning.
Storm Aileen has caused flood alerts to be issued across Salford and the region, as flooding is possible and residents should be prepared.
The Flooding Information Service want people to be aware: “River levels are forecast to remain high overnight. Be aware of your local surroundings and remain safe”.
Heavy flooding has already caused issues in parts of Greater Manchester, with more of these issues expected to continue.
