OCTOBER is officially the spookiest month of the year, full of cool and creepy Halloween events you don’t want to miss.

Halloween is fast approaching, and with it is a slew of fantastic events to entertain you and scare your socks off. From museum ghost hunts to film screenings, this year Manchester has everything a Halloween lover could dream of. With something for all the family, you can ensure you’re in for a scarily good October. Below are just a few of the fantastic events across the city this month.

 

Cat Café Horror Screenings

Manchester’s Cat Café is known for its Disney film screenings, but this October the Northern Quarter café is holding a series of classic horror film screenings. The next three weekends will be showing a different horror, beginning with Friday the 13th screening on of course, Friday the 13th. On the Saturday you can visit to watch Hocus Pocus, followed on Sunday by the much less light hearted Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The following two weekends will continue the screenings, ending on Sunday the 29th with the classic Halloween. Visit the Cat Café Facebook page for full listings.

Manchester Museum Ghost Hunt

This event is one of many Friday the 13th events across the city. The museum’s last paranormal event was a huge hit, as described on their facebook page: “Last time we had great energy with table tipping and Ouija boards, not to mention some great personal experiences for the people who were on our last event.This year is expected to be no different, and the event has over 1000 people interested on Facebook.

A Hidden Halloween

Venture down to Tatton Park in Cheshire if you dare, to explore one of the most haunted buildings in the country, and uncover the secrets of Tatton’s ancestors. Festival of the Dead- Chapter 2: Limbo

Join the Dia De Los Muertos themed night for its second round at the Bowlers Exhibition centre, which promises skull face paint, entertainment, costumes along with circus performers, DJS and live music. The debut show last year brought in over a whopping 50,000 guests, and this year promises to be a night to remember!

Pug-O-Ween

For those who are not lovers of horror and scares, this Halloween pug festival is the cutest event of the month. Pug owners and pug lovers will come together at Jackson’s Boat which a photobooth, stalls with treats not tricks for people and for pugs. Take your pug to visit the haunted house, or enter them in the fancy dress competition. Expect costumes, goodies, and an awful lot of spooky cuteness!
