Salford University men’s football team have started promisingly having won three out of their four opening games.

Salford’s opening results have set a benchmark for the rest of their season and sent out a warning to the league that they are the team to beat.

Salford are sitting in 4th but having beat the three teams that are currently in front of them they look very strong and in good position to make their way up the table.

Having recorded a 6-1 victory over UCLAN 2nd’s last week Salford are looking to push on to their next fixture against University of Manchester Men’s 3rd team in what is a must win fixture for Team Salford.

Salford are aiming to win every single one of their remaining games to give them the best chance to win the league.

Player/Manager Sam Mansfield is enjoying the season so far and is loving the way his team are playing. He said:  “The boys have started the season really well, we have won our last three games by playing some good football and scoring plenty of goals.”

“We need to maintain this form if we are going to win the league, we want to win all our remaining fixtures and finish top by the end of the season.”

With some tough up and coming fixtures, Salford have to continue their momentum in order to get the points needed to help them on their title charge.

Sam added: “We have some difficult games coming up but the way we are playing there is no reason why we can’t get 3 points in all of the games.”

Coach Chris Morrell has been very impressed with the way Salford have started the season.

Salford’s next fixtures are on the BUCS website.
