THE Big Change Campaign is going to be present in the Manchester Christmas Market programme, introducing the Bee Christmas cards which are about to hit the shelves on 1st of December.

As part of the Big Change campaign, 25 per cent of the profit from the cards will be donated to the homelessness in Manchester cause. They will have a message for 2018: “Merry Christmas. Wishing you peace and health”.

The design will include elements from the broader Christmas campaign which had a short animation for social media.

Councillor Pat Karney, Manchester’s Christmas spokesperson, said:

“Christmas, as we all know, is about giving. Santa gives us all a gentle laugh on the ice in our film, and the Manchester bee cards say it all with words of peace and health – and action around contributing to the city’s work to stop homelessness.”

The Christmas cards will be sold in packs of six for £6 at the Manchester Central Library.

Other ways you can help through the Big Change campaign

However, the Big Change campaign has more activities and events that Mancunians can be part of. On the official website, you can find out where the help is needed and how you can help. There are three categories of help: items, time and money.

For example, Mark, a donator, says he is sad Christmas is the only time people donate to charities. He donated clothes and food at the Narrowgate centre, located in Salford.

Furthermore, volunteering is another part covered by the campaign, where anyone can take part, no matter their schedule. The campaign is looking for morning volunteers as well as overnight volunteers. If interested, you can find ways to help at the tab “Time” from the website.

The Big Change campaign funds more than 20 charities supported by Manchester City Council and has already helped people to build a new life away from the streets.
