ROYAL Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) are bringing Christmas to the city of Manchester on the 21st December.

This is the fourth event that RMCH have held in Manchester and we spoke to Jess Ruth, events manager for RMCH who told us: “It is an annual event and every year we put a different project on for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital”.

This year, Coronation Street stars Kym Marsh (Michelle) and Samia Ghadie (Maria) are supporting the event alongside with English comedian John Thompson.

“We have John Thompson opening it, we have Kym Marsh doing a reading and also Samia Ghadie.

“John does a lot for us and likewise so does Kym. Samia expressed interest about getting involved with the charity and we thought it would be a good way to do it”.

The event is taking place at the Manchester Cathedral right in the city centre. “It is a central venue for us because we are based not fair from the city centre.

“It works well because it is easy for people to get too and it is a really lovely venue”.

Schools such as Manchester Grammar School, Manchester High School and Parrs Wood High School choirs are all performing at the charity event, making it a Christmas night to remember.

Jess Ruth told us the inspiration for this event came from their One Big Wish appeal and from the State of the Art Unit, they are providing a “series of interactive 3D images that engage and come up on the TV.

“It helps the children in pain with a distraction unit and that is what they will be used for, it is also for children who are under the medical treatment”.

The tickets are still available and the prices for the event are: £12 per person or £32 for a family ticket.

Doors open at 7 O’Clock on the 21st December 2017 and all the money from the tickets and what is raised will go directly to the charity.

“It is always a lovely event and always really successful. We get a lot of people coming back each year to support this event”.

Jess urges anybody who would like to get involved to contact them directly as a charity or have a look at their online website where you can also purchase tickets from here.

If you would like to contact the charity directly for any questions call 0161764522.
