Salford Community Libraries has just moved into their fourth season of Libraries Live, their events programme that brings high quality, arts and cultural events to Salford.
Season four will see Swinton Library and Salford Museum and Art Gallery playing host to a variety of activities.
The programme was founded a year ago by Jackie Kay MBE, University of Salford Chancellor, poet, writer and Scottish Makar, and will be running until September 2019.
Sarah Spence, Head of Libraries and Heritage at Salford Community Leisure, said: “We are very proud of our libraries in Salford; they are exciting cultural places.
“We are looking forward to meeting new and existing members as they discover, explore, learn, watch, take part and enjoy our new Salford Libraries Live events programme.”
No Petticoats Here brings award winning musician Louise Jordan’s stories of inspirational women who challenged expectations during the World War 1 to the truly unique setting of Lark Hill Place 1918.

Wednesday 24th October will see the “Artist Takeover: The Big Draw” come to Salford Museum and Art Gallery, in order to celebrate the Big Draw Festival.
Following this the Museum will be award winning singer, songwriter and musician, Louise Jordan will be sharing her story in “No Petticoats Here” on November 1st.
Swinton Library will be starting their events with an extensive talk from Mandusue Heller, author of the top ten bestseller Run and in December they will be having a visit from their “Library Lion” and playing host to “The Great Gatsby Investigation: A Parody Tribute Murder Mystery” events in full swing.
The teams behind the programme hope that the events have been developed to engage with their existing library users and museum visitors and encourage new faces.
