The organiser of Salford’s Winter Wonderland, Cameron Boland, said that the costume making day was “for anyone who couldn’t afford to buy their own costume”.

He continued: “The reason we are hosting this community day and event in Salford is because a lot of people struggle in winter but also so that we are also prepared for the huge event and parade we have planned in November.”

Steven Butler, Steward of Broughton Cricket and Rugby Club said that he thought it was a “fantastic event to have in the local community”.

He also added that “he was happy to see such a big event happen in Salford”.

Event manager of Salford’s Winter Wonderland, Evanya Morrison says she was “proud to be part of such a fantastic event”.

“I feel like it helps in a way of having something to do, like with the kids because there’s not a lot when it comes to the community.

“Youth clubs have closed down and things like that, so I do think it’s helped with somewhere for even parents to bring their children” she said.

They will also be hosting a Christmas event and parade in November.

The huge Christmas event will include a lantern, carnival parade, stage shows, fun fairs, stalls and lots more.

It will take place on the weekend 30th November to 2nd December.
