The Christmas Café allowed mothers to share notes on their experiences in a relaxed daycare atmosphere.

Kimberly Bond has been developing ‘By the Stalk’ enterprise for 5 years, a company that looks to educate mothers on post-natal care in many aspects.

B.O.O.B.S (Be Open On Breastfeeding) is a passion project by Ms Bond, stemming from what she says is “a fundamental lacking in education about breastfeeding”.

Ms Bond aims to educate mothers about breastfeeding, raising awareness on issues and allowing mothers to create a community in which they can talk openly about their experiences.

At the Christmas Café at The Old Pint Pot, a mix of mothers were sharing stories on their journey and talking about the issues that are prevalent to them.

The Christmas Café allowed a platform for mothers to talk about their experiences.

Some attendees implored the importance of breastfeeding: ‘’I find it fascinating how bottle feeding is that popular of an option. It is because mothers aren’t taught the ins and outs of breastfeeding. Formula milk is a development in technology, Breastfeeding will always be the much more natural and healthier way.”

Ms Bond has been working tirelessly to create a community that helps each other on the education of post-natal issues.

“It’s all about sharing stories and creating a community, and giving the support that mums need”

The Café is a collective that meets several times a year, they share stories over tea and cake, in a relaxed and safe atmosphere where their children can play.

Her project has gone further than community meets, many restaurants, pubs and areas in which mothers will go will now don the B.O.O.B.S sticker:

This sticker means that the establishment is open to allowing breastfeeding. Although breastfeeding in public is allowed, this sticker often makes mothers feel much more comfortable in feeding their children.

Their next meet will be taking place on Dec 27, at Bambino in Worsley.
