Beckham joins fellow Class of 92 members Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Gary and Phil Neville and Paul Scholes as core owners of the Peninsula Stadium side.

With the addition of Beckham into the ownership fold, the Class of 92 have taken majority ownership of the club, with Peter Lim now having a minority share of 40%.

The former Manchester United, LA Galaxy, Real Madrid, AC Milan and PSG star spoke excitingly to Salford City’s website about joining the club as an owner.

“It’s a proud moment for me to join Peter Lim and the Class of ’92 lads as an owner of Salford City FC,” said Beckham.

“It’s a really special club and a special group of people. My early years in Manchester were all spent in Salford. I grew up there in many ways so to be able to finally join the lads and the club today is a great feeling.”
