Salford City kept up the pressure on National League leaders Leyton Orient after a 3-0 victory over already relegated Maidenhead.
In a match that saw two sides having completely contrasting Seasons, it was the side in red that prevailed at the Peninsula Stadium.
The opening exchange’s of this game were very balanced with the underdogs starting the brighter of the two sides.
Maidenhead failed to make the early pressure count however as on the 11th minute it was Salford that took the lead through Mani Dieseruvwe. The goal came after Scott Wiseman cleverly intercepted the ball on the half way line, this then created a two-on-one overlap with Adam Rooney who eventually crossed to a unmarked Dieseruvwe to slide in.
It was to get much worse for Maidenhead on the 27th minute mark when Salford doubled their advantage through left back Ibou Touray. A ball was fizzed in again from Wiseman on the right hand side who found Touray. He finished calmly to the keeper’s left to put Salford 2-0 up.
Right on the stroke of halftime Salford were given the chance to go ahead even further as they were awarded a penalty. A scramble in the Maidenhead area led to a clear trip on Salford’s number 8. The National league top scorer Adam Rooney steeped up and converted Salford’s third from the spot.

The start of the second half followed the same pattern as the first with the visitors having a fair share of the ball without really threatening the Ammies at all.
I think it was fair to say that both sides looked content with the current score as neither side really looked like scoring in the second half.
