Salford Red Devils Head Coach, Ian Watson, isn’t “worried at all” ahead of Friday’s Super League play-off semi-final against Wigan Warriors.
The Red Devils are just 80 minutes away from their first ever Super League Grand Final, which takes place at Old Trafford later this month.
Watson’s side go into the match on a high having defeated the Castleford Tigers 22-0 at the AJ Bell Stadium last week.
Salford played Warriors in their qualifying final two weeks ago and narrowly missed out on victory having lost 18-12.
Ahead of Friday’s match, Watson said: “We played against Wigan a couple of weeks ago. They have been built off playing play-off football so we’re expecting the best Wigan to turn up.
“There have been a few games that have gone down to the wire. We’ve played them four times this season and come out on the wrong side so it’s up to us to come out on the right side this time,” he added.
Salford have put in some solid performances this season and Watson believes that his side can continue to fight hard.
“We’ve learned something from every time we’ve played them and we feel like we’ve certain things differently too. We’re in good shape ahead of Friday,” he said.
“Our group has been level-headed the whole way through. We’ve got guys that can lead and those who have been in big competitions as well.
“We’ve got a lot of people that have played in NRL finals and Grand Final’s over here. The young guys can feed off that and continue to feel relaxed heading into the game.”
