The annual Night of Neon is returning to Salford Quays next month to raise money for The Christie Charity which is the largest single site cancer centre in Europe.

The Night of Neon is due to take place on Saturday November 9, from 5.30pm to 10pm.

The Christie treats more than 44,000 patients across the North West each year and provides funding for enhanced services over and above the what the NHS funds, to head towards a future without cancer.

All ages are welcome at this event, prices range from:

£7.50 for children under 16

£12.50 for adults

£32 for families (2 adults and 2 children)

£55 for a team (5 adults)

After completing your registration, you will receive fundraising tips,a sponsorship pack and a free Team Christie Night of Neon T-shirt. And of course, a medal once you have completed the event.

The charity asks everyone who takes part to aim to raise at least £50.

Those taking part are encouraged to bring legwarmers, tutus and face paint to get into the spirit of the Night of Neon.

Joshua Hughff, sporting events officer at The Christie Charity, said: “The Night of Neon encourages participants to dress up in neon colours, accessories and face paint for 5km or 10km around Salford Quays to raise money for The Christie.

“It’s a family friendly, fun event, with face painters, glitter artists and neon dance acts.

“Last year’s event had a record number of over 600 people taking part and raised over £60,000 for The Christie charity.”

Starting and finishing at MediaCityUK, dance or walk your way around Salford Quays while enjoying the party with live music acts, refreshments and a fantastic atmosphere.

Participants can choose to take part in either the 5 or 10 kilometre route.
