The brain injury association, Headway, is holding an event called Mince Pie Morning across the UK. Salfords branch are taking part in the event to raise money in a festive fashion.

The association is a charity that provides help and support to those that have been affected by a brain injury as every 90 seconds, someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with a brain injury. The charity was registered in 1980 and is still going strong 40 years later.

Samantha Ashcroft, network coordinator for Headway, Salford said: “The event is to get friends, family and work colleagues together.

“They can have a mince-pie and raise a little bit of cash to help Headway groups in the local area. It is a way of supporting adults with acquired brain injuries and their carers”.
