A suspected meth lab has been discovered by police today in the Chimney-Pot park area of Salford.

Items associated with methamphetamine production were found by police at an address on Field Street at 6:20am.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on drug offence charges and remains in custody for questioning.

A forensics tent, police cars and other emergency service vehicles were pictured at the scene, a spokeswoman for the fire service confirmed that they would be completing safety checks alongside the police.

A statement released by Greater Manchester Police said: “Shortly after 6.20am this morning, Friday, December 13, 2019 police attended a property on Field Street, Salford and found a number of items which are suspected to be used in the production of methamphetamine.

“Officers remain at the scene working with the fire service to recover the items.

“A man aged 34 has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

“He remains in custody for questioning.”
