Two people have been arrested in Salford after a vehicle was stolen in a knife-point robbery.

Last night, Greater Manchester Police and their Operation Corridor Team pursued the car through the streets of Salford.

90 minutes after the robbery, the driver lost control and crashed the stolen vehicle on the A666.

The National Police Air Service North West Region assisted Greater Manchester Police in the pursuit.

 

There are no serious injuries and enquiries are still ongoing. There are currently no delays on the A666 after the crash.

Last week, a police officer was seriously injured after a collision involving a stolen vehicle just of the A6 Pendleton roundabout. The police car rolled into an embankment after colliding with the stolen car. A 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

Other collisions have occurred on the A666 in recent months. Kevin Baker from Darwen was pronounced dead after a car crash on the December 15, 2019.
