A group of masked gunmen have opened fire on a home over a ‘personal dispute’, injuring a dog in the process.

Police were called to an address on Lissadel Street in Pendleton after reports of a firearm’s discharge on Monday 24th February.

A section of the street remains cordoned off to the public as further inquiries are made into the shooting.

The gunmen, according to the Greater Manchester Police, approached the residency at around 10.30pm before opening fire after the owner opened the door. The owner was not injured.

The dog is not believed to have been the target of the shooting.

The wounds were not fatal and the gunshot shrapnel has been removed safely.

GMP have stated the incident occurred over a ‘personal dispute’ with the owner of the property and was not involved with any gang related incidents after this becomes the 26th shooting in Salford in a year.
