Salford will be celebrating International Women’s Day with a number of events over the coming days.

International Women’s Day falls on March 8 this year and we’ve produced this guide to how you can help celebrate it across the city.

IWD Talk by Katherine Connelly @ Working Class Movement Library

Katherine Connelly focuses her talk on the Sylvia Pankhurst book, ‘A Suffragette In America’ and will uncover the exceptional story about her two tours in 1911 and 1912 across America. Connelly has also written a biography about her called Sylvia Pankhurst Suffragette, Socialist and Scourge of Empire.

Pendleton Together IWD Event @ Pendleton Gateway

The non-profit organisation Pendleton Together are hosting an event for International Women’s Day on Monday, March 9.

 

Food and drink will be offered, as will employment and training advice for women. Well-being therapies will also be available to take part in between 11am-1.30pm.

This will take place at Pendleton Gateway at 10.30am-3pm and is open to everyone.
