Easy fitness sessions

The You Can Community Centre in Salford is holding free easy fitness sessions for children and young adults with additional needs or disabilities.

Every Thursday from 2-3pm free easy fitness sessions are available via Microsoft Teams for participants aged 10 to 24 years.

They will allow young adults to keep fit and healthy via a group video session.

Jillian Pollitt from You Can Community Salford club said: “The youth club that we have or that we would run normally is for young people with disabilities& additional needs.

“We’ve tailored a fitness session which is low ability and something they can do really easily from home.”

The sessions are run by Ben Andrews who leads the sessions and the physical activity with the young adults.

The sessions also help to give the participants with routine whilst in lockdown.

She said: “They know every Thursday there’s a fitness session.

“It’s something for them to look forward to.”

The sessions are to ensure that young people can continue to socialise while keeping active and entertained in lockdown.
