Sale Sharks Women host Saracens Women this Saturday in their second game of their maiden Allianz Premier 15s season.

The Sharks’ first outing came in the form of a 7-29 defeat against Loughborough Lightning last weekend, as the newly-formed outfit learned quickly how competitive the division is.

Darren Lamon, Head of Women’s Rugby at Sale, and his side, only managed the one try in their opening game – Lauren Delaney making history as the first ever try scorer at the club.

The game was in reach for Sale right up to the final few minutes, before Loughborough went over twice to put the game to bed.

A busy summer saw several quality and marquee names sign for the club, the big one being Katy Daley-McLean – England’s World Cup-winning captain – who impressed in Sale’s first runout.

Next up for the Sharks is a visit from last year’s Allianz Premier 15s champions, Saracens, which promises to be a tough fixture for a side that is still finding its feet in unchartered ground.

Saracens opened their account up with a 34-25 home victory against Worcester Valkyries over the weekend, and will be looking to build on their strong start when they visit the league’s newcomers later this week.

Sale Sharks Women v Saracens Women kicks off at 3.00pm on Saturday 17 October.
