Fire services were called to Trafford park this afternoon after a huge fire broke out.

An industrial cooling tower is believed to have been involved in the fire, which started about 12:30 pm today.

Video footage has emerged showing a big black cloud rising into the sky, there have been no information yet as to whether anyone has been injured.

Witnesses say there was a strong smell burning rubber in the air.

A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “We were called to a building fire on Trafford Park Road, Trafford Park, on Monday, 19 October, at 12.37pm.

“Fire engines from Eccles, Stretford, Gorton and Salford fire stations quickly attended the scene.

“The fire involved an industrial cooling tower. Crews used two hose reels and one thermal image camera to extinguish the fire.

“The fire service were on scene for just over one hour.”
