RSPCA Manchester and Salford have had their flagship charity shop broken into causing them a loss of £1000.
At 4am on Saturday morning the glass door was smashed and items were stolen at the flagship store in Chorlton. The event was caught on CCTV.
All of the animals are at a separate location and are safe and well.
Susie Hughes, Branch Manager, said: “We will be down £1k, at a time when we least can afford to lose it and when nonessential shops face closure from next week.”
The loss of £1000 is the amount it costs to provide 5 days of veterinary treatment for the animals they have in their care. The non-profit have a justgiving page to help them raise the funds they need to continue providing support for the many animals they have.
The RSPCA are being forced to close all of their charity stores across Greater Manchester, which are their main source of income, due to the countrywide lockdown.
Like many charities at this time they are suffering financially and are always accepting donations through their fundraising page or alternatively contributions of supplies for the animals.

The charity are also still advertising for adoptions of the animals they have in care. These are always displayed on their social media pages.
