Makers Market

Dozens of small business and customers filled the plaza outside the Quayside Outlet last weekend to support local Salford businesses.

The monthly Quayside Makers Markets took place this past weekend and they were absolutely packed.

This was despite the previous days trading being unfortunately cancelled due to bad weather.

The Sunday stalls were up and ready to go on the windy, chilly last Sunday of the month. The markets are a platform for so many local Salford businesses to promote and sell their products.

Simon who asked us to just use his first name in this article attended the markets was impressed with the event last weekend and told us:

“I think they (the markets) are very good as it gives small local traders the opportunity to work, There was lots on offer to satisfy most people.”

Due to the ongoing pandemic we also talked to simon a bit about safety at the markets and wheterh he felt comfortable attending them, he said: “We felt completely safe, masks were being worn by the majority of people, hand sanitizers were available. There were pinch points particularly were some people had stopped to talk but it was easily navigated.”

Stalls ranged from handmade candles, potted plants, food stalls and more.

Free samples, variety of food from crepes to pies there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The November and December instalments of the markets are currently to be confirmed but likely to take place on the last Saturday and Sunday of the month.
