Body found after house fire in Salford this morning

In the early hours of this morning, the fire service were called by the police to a house on Liverpool Street to tend to reports of a fire.

Reports of flames coming out the top and back of the house came through earlier this morning from neighbours.

There is currently an ongoing investigation into the cause of the fire. Police and fire services still remain at the scene.

A statement from GMP read:

“Police were called by the fire service to a report of a fire at a property on Liverpool Street, Salford at around 6.20am this morning.

“Emergency services attended and sadly found the body of a man, believed to be in his 80’s.

“A scene remains in place at the property,

“Enquiries into the cause of the fire remain ongoing.”
