With everything going on, we might not feel the Christmas spirit yet in Salford.

However, there are plenty of festive activities sleighing the streets of the city and here are some of our favourites:

It is finally that time of year again (oh no it isn’t)!

It may feel unlikely that you’ll get your panto fix this year, however, Car Park Party have created a drive-in performance of the Horrible Histories.

This performance will take place at the AJ Bell Stadium in Salford on the 26th and 27th of December.

The production promises to show you and your family the history of Christmas through the decades and will give you the festive feeling, in a safe and socially distanced manner.

There will even be burger and hot dog stands, so what’s not to love?

Tickets are on sale for £47 per car, with a £2.50 booking fee and can be found at carparkparty.com.

Faina & The Snow Beast

The Lowry may be closed for now, but they always have exciting events going on!

Faina & The Snow beast is an audio book with a downloadable science experiment pack, that will allow your children to help Faina on her adventure!

Faina’s science project exploded and now she’s off on an expedition into the wilderness to find the Snow Beast. The science puzzles will help Faina on her journey and allow her find out if the Snow Beast exists.

This is available till the 30th December and costs £6.99.

MediaCityUK

If MediaCity wasn’t pretty enough, the gardens have transformed into a winter wonderland.

From fairy gardens to elves, the lights have been switched on at MediaCity and will be twinkling throughout December.

Why not visit The Lowry Outlet at the weekend and experience the Makers Market?

Stallholders have a range of locally sourced products, including gin, cheese and Christmas treats!

MediaCity is also home of Box on The Docks. You can’t book yourself in for a self-contained meal just yet, but, walking around the art trail is just as appealing and will make a gorgeous winter walk.

CBeebies Christmas in Storyland

CBeebies will be spreading the Christmas joy with their annual Christmas show.

Christmas in Storyland will be available from Saturday 12th December on CBeebies at 9:30am.

Families across the country are encouraged to join in at home and take part in a mass pyjama party, as well as, downloading the song sheets, recipe cards and all the activities for the event.

This particular story, will also pay tribute to the heroes of 2020 such as nurses, carers, and teachers who all play apart of the Elves Adventure.

Hug in a Mug Santa’s Grotto

Ho Ho Ho Santa is back in town this year.

Hug in a Mug are spreading Christmas magic and still have spaces for their socially distanced festive grotto!

Your lucky child will get to meet Santa before the big day arrives!

There may be a little bit of distance between them this year but each child will leave with a small gift and a photograph with Father Christmas to treasure forever.

The grotto is open every Saturday in December and costs £3.50 for 1 child, £5 for 2 and £6.50 for 3.
