As we enter the third stage of the governments ‘roadmap out of Lockdown’, more entertainment venues are reopening in Salford.

Salfordians, as with the entire nation will be gladdened by this news. From earlier this week certain entertainment venues and businesses have been authorised to open their doors again.

But what’s on? And where can you go to enjoy a slight return to freedom again?

Pubs

Outdoor seating for pubs has been allowed for over a month now. Pubs with indoor seating and no available outdoor space have yet to reopen. This changed from the 17th, residents whose local has been closed needn’t worry anymore.

All pubs can look forward to returning to reality as long as guidelines are followed strictly.

Groups of up to 30 people will be allowed to meet in pubs when dining outdoors, replacing the rule of six requirement for the time being. The rule has been extended to allow people to socialise in hospitality venues.

Cinemas

Since lockdown restrictions banned the opening of cinemas, new films were released directly onto streaming platforms.

Those who’ve missed the big screen will be happy to hear a return to reality.

New films are on the horizon, with a few scheduled releases correlating to this next stage of reopening.

Fans of action films will be glad to hear the release  of the new James Bond, ‘No Time To Die’, as we see Daniel Craig on his final outing as 007.

For the family, Disney’s new motion picture ‘Raya And The Last Dragon’ may appease moviegoers.

Another film designed for the big screen, ‘Godzilla Vs. Kong’ will get you your monster fix if you so please.

Popular cinema companies like Vue, Odeon and Everyman are amongst the chains that have confirmed they’ll open.

Museums, Galleries and Theatres

Both Museums and Galleries have also been given the go-ahead. Fans of the arts in Salford will be happy to hear ‘The Lowry’ has opened its doors again.

Permanent exhibitions like the ‘LS Lowry – The Art and The Artist’ will be available to view at your leisure. ‘The Salford Museum And Art Gallery’ are also accepting bookings for viewings from today for their inaugural opening on May 29th.

The Lowry Theatre is also opening, with showings running from the 18th of May onwards with tickets available to purchase on The Lowry website. Salford arts theatre is another company opening up with showings also kicking off from this week.

What Else?

If you’ve been shackled in Salford for the majority of the pandemic you’ll be glad to hear Air BnBs, Hostels and Hotels are also on the list of places allowed to reopen.

Indoor sporting and gym classes have been allowed to go ahead now, giving people that extra incentive to get out and get active. This is in addition to gyms already being open to the public.

Another sector to reopen are large venues. Indoor venues of up to 1,000 people can start up again, with the only restriction being a limit at half capacity.

Outdoor venues will also be allowed up to 4,000 people or half-full, whichever comes first. Large outdoor seated venues where crowds can be spread out will be allowed up to 10,000 people, meaning venues such as Old Trafford and the peninsula stadium can re-open, albeit at the end of the football season.
