KidSmart Learning Centre is set to hold a Swinton scarecrow trail for families to get involved in this Halloween.

The organisation, which is run by volunteers, offers community groups and events for local families with primary school children.

In previous years, they have held Easter egg and treasure hunts. This Halloween, they are back for the second year with a Swinton Scarecrow Trail.

Pagan Jones, the founder of KidSmart Learning Centre, said: “When we went into lockdown, there wasn’t much going on for the kids outside, so we put on the scarecrow trail last year, and loads of people opted into making a scarecrow, so we’ve just decided to put it on again this year.”

The trail allows families to get involved by making their own spooky scarecrow to display in their gardens. You can then register your Halloween display on the map to become part of the trail. Locals can walk the Swinton trail from 23 October to 31 October 2021.

Those looking to support KidSmart Learning Centre can give a voluntary donation to the group in the form of a £2 trail map. Pagan says, “[money raised by the maps] goes into community groups.”
