Voters in Blackfriars and Trinity are gearing up to head to their local polling station for a council by-election on Thursday.
The by-election was called following the passing of Labour councillor Ray Walker in August 2021.
There are four candidates standing in the by-election on Thursday:
• Roseanna Wain – Labour Party
• Christopher Bates – The Conservative Party candidate
• Joseph Ross Allen – Liberal Democrats
• David Jones – Green Party
The Labour Party candidate is Roseanna Wain and she is campaigning for equality and social justice.
She is also hoping to tackle issues on litter, investment in parks and services and holding landlords to account.

The Conservative candidate is Christopher Bates and he is hoping to change from “the status quo” should he be elected to represent Blackfriars and Trinity on the council.
Liberal Democrat candidate, Joseph Ross Allen, is campaigning to eliminate the amount of littering to create safe and clean space for community members and their families.

David Jones was born and raised in Salford and he will be running for the Green Party, hoping to fight for what is best for Salford residents.
Polling stations are located in the following locations:
Polls open at 7am on Thursday November 4 2021 and registered voters have until 10pm to cast their vote.
