Salford City fans can look forward to a thrilling mid-table battle this Tuesday as the Ammies take on Bristol Rovers at the Peninsula Stadium.

In what is set to be a close game, the Ammies are looking to leapfrog the Pirates in the Sky Bet League Two table as they lie just two points behind their opponents.

Currently sitting in 16th, a win in front of a home crowd will see Salford rise as far as 10th if results go their way.

Gary Bowyer’s side are looking to capitalise on an upturn in form that has seen them go unbeaten in November.

Another three points would continue an impressive run that saw the side take the spoils in a 2-0 win away against Harrogate Town.

A close-range effort from midfielder Matty Lund helped the side to victory on the road to a Harrogate side fighting for a playoff position, as Jason Lowe also broke an eight-year scoring duct with a second-half strike.

This win forms part of a run that has seen the side win three of their last four games, including two clean sheets in the process.

Salford will once again have Ibou Touray and Tryeik Wright available to them after the pair returned from international duty at the weekend.

The Ammies will however be without goal scorer Lund, who misses the game through suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Harrogate.

Bristol, who were relegated to League Two last year after finishing bottom of Sky Bet League One, are set to make their Peninsula Stadium debut on Tuesday evening.

The Pirates, who are on a mixed run of form, are looking to do better than their 2-2 draw at home to Tranmere Rovers at the weekend.

Joey Barton’s side are also coming off the back of a sensational win against Oxford United in the FA Cup, after their replay fixture ended 4-3 at extra time.

The game is set to be a hard-fought affair, so fans can look forward to an action-packed game.
