A £15 million Bridgewater care home has been opened in Worsley, creating around 100 new jobs for residents.

The three storey facility, which gained planning permission in 2020, was opened to the public yesterday by Salford’s ceremonial mayor.

It boasts 71 beds and includes spa assisted bathrooms, nail bars, hairdressers, gardens and first floor terraces.

Gemma Carey, PR for Bridgewater Manor care, said: “There is going to be exceptional care for the 71 residents of Worsley and Salford.

“The care home itself is stunning, they are comfortable, safe and secure”.

Carey also noted that New Care, who own the home, work with the NHS to free up hospital beds and put elderly patients in their homes.

She said: “The jobs are across all mediums so there will be carers and nurses, but there will also be chefs, hospitality staff, maintenance and housekeeping.

“The manager has been appointed and they will have a number of carers on”.

Once the home fills up with more residents, extra staff will be employed.

“They will constantly be recruiting people for the next 12 months”.
