Salford Council and Salford Connexions are hosting an event to improve employability among 16-18-year-olds.

The #FindMyFuture event will take place at The Den, Walkden on March 10 from 2-5pm.

Young people will have the opportunity to meet local employers who can provide traineeships, apprenticeships, study programmes, and other work experience.

As an added bonus, all who attend will be entered into a prize draw for a £50 high street voucher.

Salford City College, Build Salford and other local training providers will be attending to provide information, advice, and guidance on a range of pathways into education, employment, and training.

Many roles due being discussed on the day will have immediate starts.

There will be financial support options available to those who attend, which will help them to fund interview clothes, travel, and secure ID.

For those seeking work, there will be intensive support on hand to find and secure employment via making quality applications and support with getting to interviews as well as interview preparation.

For those who are not quite ready for employment yet, there will be many other opportunities to help them explore the journeys that their career could take.

There will also be advice and signposting for those needing emotional and mental health support.

The organisers understand that the pandemic has created an increased need for mental and emotional health support among young people.

Salford Connexions aims to help young people aged 16 to 18  move into new education, training and employment opportunities.
