Salford Mansfield

Salford manager Gary Bowyer was quick to dismiss allegations that Salford were already focused on next season in his post-match interview on Monday.

Bowyer said: “We’ve got to keep looking at Stevenage and then we can go from there”, when asked if Salford’s summer plans were already in place.

Salford City will play their final league game of the season this weekend against 22nd Stevenage.

Salford’s season is effectively over following their 2-2 draw with Mansfield, as they can no longer achieve their dream of promotion.

Saturday’s opponents are now safe from any threat of relegation,  which could lead to an exhibition like feel to the match with both teams not having much to play for.

The Ammies can still finish as high as 8th this season if results go there way, so the Reds will be aiming to end the season as high as possible to lay a marker down for next season and wrap up this seasons campaign up on a positive note.

Stevenage can also improve their league position if they take something from the game as they look to end their relegation threatened season on a high.

The match will kick-off at 15:00 on Saturday the 7th of May at Broadhall Way.
