Salford residents should expect significant disruption to the transport network over the next two weeks ahead of the run of Oasis gigs.
Ahead of the five dates, beginning on Friday 11 July and Saturday 12 July, Transport for Greater Manchester are expecting more than 300,000 fans across the five-night tour.
Their Oasis Live ’25 tour will continue on Wednesday 16 July, and the last two performances will take place on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July.
With huge numbers expected in the area, many Salford and surrounding roads and transport are expected to see disruptions – especially with no tram service operating via Piccadilly Gardens due to engineering works until 10 August.
Ahead of the events TfGM have shared that in order to safely manage crowd for the Oasis concerts changes will be made to the Metrolink services including those coming from Salford.
The Eccles service will operate to Cornbrook during this period – with passengers having to use the Rochdale to East Didsbury line to change trams in the city centre to continue their journey.
Salford residents and drivers will also be advised to use the inner ring road (Trinity Way) on both days this weekend, with planned works taking place on Chapel Street and New Bailey Street, which will be in place until Spring 2026.
And with two night of the Oasis Live ’25 tour will take place on Friday (11 July) and Wednesday (16 July), fans travelling into Heaton Park will experience higher congestion on bus and tram, due to commuters making their way home.
As well as the five-nights of Oasis, Salford residents should also plan ahead for journeys as Kool and the Gang will be performing at the AO Arena on Friday 11 July with doors opening at 6pm.
Across town, Lancashire Lightning will be taking on Yorkshire in a game of cricket at Emirates Old Trafford, with the event commencing at 7pm.
And the following weekend, Billie Eilish will perform at the Co-op Live, on both Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July. In the meantime, the AO Arena will see Paw Patrol attract crowds of over 20,000,
increasing congestion across the city centre on both nights.
With hundreds of thousands travelling to Manchester over the next two week, TfGM have advised “all those affected by congestion in the city centre to re-route or re-time their journey, or to work from home if possible.”
