Salford Red Devils have confirmed that Joe Shorrocks has joined Leeds Rhinos on loan until the end of the 2025 season.

Shorrocks, who has made 44 appearances for the Red Devils has become a versatile asset for Paul Rowley’s side – scoring twice at the club.

The 25-year-old signed for the Reds from Wigan Warriors in November 2023 after bursting onto the scene as a hard-working, industrious forward.

He will now continue to showcase his talents at Leeds Rhinos, until the end of 2025 – where he will join Kallum Watkins and Chris Hankinson.

Shorrocks has already been named in the 21-man squad ahead of their Thursday night clash against Hull KR – replacing the academy duo of Jacob Stead and Zak Llloyd.

Following the loan move, Shorrocks told Leeds Rhinos that he was happy to get the deal over the line.

As he continued: “I am delighted to be able to get the deal over the line and finally be in with all the boys. I had some positive meetings this morning with the coaches, and I know what they want from me, and I’ve said to them what I can offer to the squad.

“It’s nice to see Kallum and Chris after not seeing them for a few weeks or months.”

He added: “As soon as I signed the deal, it felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders as it meant not having to worry about anything but rugby now.

“The loan move gives me a chance to put myself in the shop window for next season. I have not played for a few weeks because of a tough situation, so I can’t wait to get started.”

Following the loan move, Salford Red Devils said: “Everyone at the Club would like to thank Shoz for his efforts in a red shirt and wish him the best for the rest of the season.”

More information about his move can be found here.
