Ordsall councillor Brendan Keville has arranged a community litter pick in Islington on Saturday 15th November at 11am.
The Councillor says he wants to encourage the message to love the local environment in an attempt to reduce the quantities of litter and fly-tipping in green spaces around Salford.
He said: “The area has a strong sense of community and has welcomed lots of new residents from recent developments along Chapel Street and Hillfield Road.
“It’s clear to see following the COVID lockdown how important it is to have accessible green spaces for local residents’ health and well-being.
“Unfortunately, some of our green spaces have been impacted by litter and fly-tipping, which makes them feel less welcome.”
For anyone interested in attending, all equipment will be provided, any attendees have been asked to simply bring themselves and a sensible pair of footwear. The meeting point is Arthur Millwood Court, Salford, M3 5HR.

The route taken will run along East Ordsall Lane, starting by the railway track and run along until Islington Park.
Brendan also arranged a litter pick in Ordsall Park on Saturday 8th November. “We’ve noticed some improvements in the area, when you start getting on top of the area, it helps to get the message out,” added Cllr Keville.
Councillors are also working with residents to bring a new linear park to Islington. A community meeting taking place at 18:30 on Tuesday 18th November at Canon Hussey Court to discuss plans for the new park as well as other resident issues.
