Salford Civic Centre was illuminated by red lights to mark World AIDS Day yesterday.
The 1st of December has been designated World AIDS Day since 1988 to raise awareness of the disease caused by the spread of the HIV infection.
2025 marked the 37th annual World AIDS Day, where thousands of people across the country mourned those who have passed away from the illness.
Salford Civic Centre was lit red last night to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS, and show support in the fight against them.
The colour red was chosen to match the red ribbon, for those lost to AIDS and living with HIV, to show solidarity and chosen for its association with blood and love.
According to a 2025 report by the Department of Health and Social Care, there are 37 people in Salford living with diagnosed HIV.
