THE SICK! Festival celebrates life, death and survival and will take place at several venues in Manchester over 17 days.
In partnership with Dutch Performing Arts, SICK! Festival presents a showcase of six new pieces of work by some of the most outstanding artists from The Netherlands.
Together, they place Dutch work at the forefront of contemporary performance practices and investigations into the nature of European identity at a time of dramatic change and uncertainty.
SICK! Festival will begin at various places across the city beginning tomorrow and on the 20th of March events will also be held in Brighton.

Dutch Performing Arts is a programme that promotes Dutch music, theatre and dance on the international stage. The programme is powered by the Performing Arts Fund NL.
Helen Medland, Artistic Director and CEO of SICK! Festival said:
“SICK! Festival celebrates life, death and survival, exploring subjects that are hugely important to all of us, however difficult they may be.
“This year, the festival programme takes particular account of our relationships with the communities around us. It explores how we construct our identities through our choices, hopes and actions, and how for better or worse, we are shaped by the world we live in.”
Helen added: “The programme presents artists and speakers whose work combines depth and integrity with a real commitment to social agendas.
“The festival would not be possible without the contribution of our partners Contact, The Lowry, the Whitworth, Manchester Museum and Central Library, and we are excited to be working for the first time with HOME, Manchester Art Gallery and STUN Studio.”
Rethink Rebuild Society and Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are also contributors to the festival which confronts the physical, mental and social challenges through an international programme of theatre, dance, film, public installations and discussions.
