Local care service, Home Instead Senior Care, who provide home care for elderly people in Salford and Worsley are in need of more good carers within the community.

The carers help provide practical assistance with personal care as well as completing household tasks.

Susan Robinson, director of Home Instead Senior Care, said: “It’s hard to find the type of person that we want as carers for Home Instead in Salford.

“For every 100 that show interest only 30% people get through. They need to have a heart of gold.

“We only select carers who have a caring nature coupled with passion and empathy. We spend a great deal of time cherry picking our carers and matching them to clients to provide a bespoke service.”

They carry out extensive checks on all potential members of their team to ensure that both sides, the client and the carer, feel safe and secure.

“They’ve got to be somebody that we would be happy to have in our homes for carers for our parents. If mum wants to dance we will find someone who dances. If dad wants to garden we will find a keen gardener and if Aunty wants to sing we will find a choir.”

For each client they will be matched with a caregiver who they will see on a regular basis which allows them to build a good relationship.

Carers also stay in contact with the family of the client to provide feedback and updates.

Some of their other services include; nutrition, preventing hospitalisation, dementia care and helping to age well.

Home Instead opened in Salford in 2016 and have over 200 offices across the UK.
