As Christmas gets closer, here is a list of all of the sporting clubs holding Christmas events in Salford over the festive period.

Cadishead Rhinos Community Rugby League Club

The Rugby League club are holding a quiz and bingo night this Saturday and everybody is welcome.

With only a £1 entry fee, the four hour event starts at 7pm and runs up until 11pm.

Founded in 1993, Cadishead Rhinos Community Rugby League Club are a community run sports club, home to two open age Rugby League teams as well as six youth teams.

They also won club of the year 2018 at the Salford Sports Network awards.

The City of Salford Volleyball Club

The City of Salford volleyball club are also hosting a Christmas event, yet this one is much more sports orientated.

The club are hosting a Christmas volleyball tournament this Saturday, which will consist of 2v2 matches and run from 8pm up until 10pm.

They currently consist of three teams; the Women’s National Volleyball League (NVL) Division team, the City of Salford Junior Volleyball team and a sitting Volleyball team.

Clifton Cricket Club

A Christmas Dinner and Brass Band Concert will be held by Clifton Cricket Club next Monday. Running from 7pm, the evening boasts a four course Christmas dinner and music from Eccles borough band, however, tickets do need to be purchased for this event. The club is home to a total of eight cricket teams; three senior teams and junior teams aged Under 18, 15, 13, 11 and nine.

De La Salle sports and social club

De La Salle sports and social club are hosting a variety of sports events over the Christmas period. They have a Christmas children’s party between 12pm and 4pm on 22nd December, an event on Christmas eve featuring a female vocalist, a ‘stars in your mince pies’ evening on Boxing day as well as a New Year’s Eve family disco, all starting at 7:30pm.

Running Retro

Running Retro is holding a ‘Retro Mile’ on 14th December from 10am. It consists of a one mile fun run with only one rule, runners must take part running backwards. It is a family event, and all ages are welcome to complete the three lap circuit around Cadishead Rhinos ARLFC recreation field.
