Salford City travel away to Cambridge United in an EFL League Two clash tonight.

In their last league game, the Ammies were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw at home to Oldham on Saturday, courtesy of a late Oldham equaliser.

Meanwhile, tonight’s opponent Cambridge drew 1-1 away to Morecambe.

The last meeting between these two sides was in October. There, Salford secured a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Adam Rooney.

A win for Graham Alexander’s men could see them rise to 11th place in the league, although the current 11th placed team Newport County hold 3 games in hand over Salford.

Alexander is determined to see his side secure victory after last Saturday’s draw. “We’ve got to make up ground that we’re losing by winning games whenever we can and Tuesday’s the next opportunity for that.”

Tonight’s match could see the debut of new loan signing George Tanner. The 20-year-old right-back is arriving from parent club Manchester United, having spent the first half of this season on loan at bottom club Morecambe.

Tanner isn’t the only new arrival at the Peninsula Stadium. The January transfer window has seen striker Tom Elliot, forward Bruno Andrade, and midfielder Michael O’Connor all join Salford City.

Tickets are no longer available for tonight’s game, but fans can purchase a video or audio pass here
