Salford City will welcome Hartlepool United to the Peninsula Stadium after drawing them in last night’s F.A. Cup draw.

The first round tie will play out the weekend of November 7th.

It will be the first time since April 2019 that the sides will meet, when both teams were playing in the Vanarama National League – a particularly memorable season for The Ammies which saw them promoted to the Football League.

The last encounter at the Peninsula Stadium saw Salford run out 3-0 victors.

The reverse fixture of that 2018/19 season saw Hartlepool win 3-2 at Victoria Park.

Salford will look to improve on last season’s performance in the F.A. Cup after they couldn’t make it out of the first round of the competition, losing 4-1 to Burton Albion in a first-round replay.

Hartlepool faced a similar fate in last season’s competition, crashing out in the first round after a 4-3 defeat to Gillingham in a first-round replay.

Salford City’s James Wilson (centre) celebrates scoring his teams second goal against Southend United, during the Sky Bet League Two match at Moor Lane, Salford.

Salford currently sit 8th in SkyBet League Two with just two wins out of their last five.

Hartlepool are third in the National League, unbeaten so far this season.

The exact time and date of the tie are to be confirmed soon.
