A Salford Graduate has accompanied Manchester City to the Champions league final.

Abigail Withey, Salford graduate describes accompanying the club to Porto as a career highlight.

“As a football fan first, attending a champions league final has always been a dream.

“But to go as a job, with such an amazing club is incredible.”

She began as a content creator and has since moved over to the social media team and is now a social media producer and presenter.

She said: “One of the best bits about the job, is that no day is the same.

“My day-to-day job is running the social media channels, our twitter, Instagram and titok.”

During her four years at the club, she has accompanied both the men’s and ladies’ teams across the world on pre-season tours around America and Asia.

Her highlights include attending the trophy parades and being on the team bus when Manchester city won the premier league.

Abigail praises the club for the opportunities it has given her.

She plans to continue her career there for as long as she can.

She said: “I really see myself staying and growing at city, from starting as an intern, learning as much I have, and being surrounding by an amazing, talented team, I really don’t see myself anywhere else.

“It makes me want too constantly be better. I’ve had so many opportunities and done so much more than I thought I ever would.”

Withey studied broadcast journalism at Salford university and was also awarded Quays news student of the year alongside the Eddie Lowey student of the year award during her time studying.
