Premiership Rugby team Sale Sharks, who play at the AJ Bell stadium in Barton, have signed Tom O’Flaherty for next season.

The current Exeter Chiefs winger has had an impressive season and is touted for an England cap in the near future.

The former Cardiff Met student, who started his career at the Ospreys and is Welsh-qualified, is currently in his fifth season with the Chiefs and is arguably in the form of his career.

He has scored eight tries this season and has made the second most metres made of any player in the Premiership, with 1452. He has scored a total of 35 tries in 91 appearances for the Devon-based team.

Exeter fans will be extremely disappointed to see O’Flaherty leave while Sale fans are already expressing their delight at the exciting new signing. One fan took to Twitter to simply say, “Needless to say this is a cracking signing”.

While another fan said, “Cracking signing! Bringing in some real talent so far”.

It has been a very successful season for signings for Sale Sharks so far. They have already confirmed the signing of O’Flaherty’s current teammate, Jonny Hill, an England international and British and Irish Lion.

As well as 78 cap England international, and Oldham-born, George Ford.
